Pastries and Picture Cheating

Mike and I were driving through the Dallas area and stopped at local Mexican and Latin bakeries one weekend.  I was so hungry in the car, but had forgotten my camera at home.  I didn't want to ruin the cookies and the pastries before I took a picture of them, so I nibbled (in reality I more than nibbled)  on them and tried to hide the evidence.
Guava cookie.
The hidden portion of the guava cookie.

Dolce de leche bread.
The hidden portion of the bread.

This Mexican bread made it home in one piece.

This Mexican flaky pastry did not make it home in one piece.  That's why only a portion of it is showing.

Hope you all had a great weekend! Happy Mother's Day to all you mothers out there.  Mike and I were good this year and sent our Mother's Day presents on time.

doesn't that Mexican bread (the third one pictured) remind you of Japanese Melon-pan? I am always so disappointed when I eat one and it doesn't taste like musk melon...

I am very impressed by your ability to not devour the goodies on the way home. I don't know if I possess that kind of will power, especially after having taking a nibble.

Erika-I totally agree with you. I thought it was taste like the melon pan, but the texture was more dry and nothing like the japanese bread.

Suraya-I tried really hard not to eat all the pastries. What I did not show on the blog are the pictures of the pastires that were in my belly at the time. :)
