Wish us luck! Right now we're in New Orleans competing in the annual IFT Student Product Development Competition! The University of Illinois team has been working on this project since last September and countless hours have been spent laboring over the formulation, experimentation, and tasks associated with our bars. The team is awesome and we've accomplished a lot over these past months.The University of Illinois (UIUC)has not been a finalist for many years (I think since 2000) so we are hoping to make our school proud!

What did we develop? Dream Pie Bars~Pleasantly Pumpkin. It's a luxurious frozen treat consisting of three layers. A indulgent whipped cream-esque center surrounded by a creamy pumpkin-pie layer, partially covered with a homemade graham cracker crust. It contains over 100% DV or vitamin A, 10% DV of fiber, and 10% DV of calcium all in a under 175 Calorie treat. Yes, I'm biased, but it's quite delicious. On a 9-point hedonic scale (9=like extrememly) our product scored 7.9 which means that the 80 people we tested really enjoyed the product.
We are in the process of patenting it and getting a license on our product, so sorry no stealing our idea.
Wish us luck. We are competing against five other schools who are usually always in the competition. The other schools have probably also have been living, sleeping, and breathing their products for the past year too, so I'm sure all the products will be awesome! We are the underdogs, but hopefully with our passion for our Dream Pie Bars we'll be able to come out on top!
