Okay, back to the reality of the matter, I’ve been crying more sad tears than happy tears these past few days. I guess that’s inevitable when it comes to planning a wedding for ~300 guests...and you live miles away. Luckily, I have a really caring sister and awesome and supportive friends both back in Hawaii and Illinois.
My advice to future brides:
- If you do not want a big wedding, then be firm and stand your ground (whether this is against your parents or fiancé).
- It’s YOUR wedding. There is no “right” way that a wedding should be. Do not let others control your wedding or do not let others dictate or guilt you in what is appropriate.
- Remember to smile and breathe. Things are not as bad as they seem.
- When in doubt, eloping is just fine.

ReplyDeleteI don't want a big wedding but I always been told by family about having a big wedding. Though I know what I want..hehehe
Those were totally my guidelines as well when I got married! Don't worry, the time will fly by and you'll be relieved hanging out in Lanai before you know it! :)

ReplyDeleteAww! Looks great to me! I heard the food is awesome!
ReplyDeleteto everyone,
ReplyDeletethanks for all the wishes. the wedding is quite soon and i'm sure all the worries will disappear when the day comes.
Wow - it looks beautiful. That's some great, very true advice for brides - just keep some of those things in mind for yourself too! Everything will go smoothly and be better than you imagined. I freaked out and cried lots up until the day of - then suddenly, it all floated away and I was able to just enjoy the day. My only other piece of advice: delegate, delegate, delegate!! Hang in there!
